Children's Dentistry in Tulare, CA
Gentle, positive dental visits that set your child up for a lifetime of healthy smiles.
A child's first experiences at the dentist shape how they feel about dental care for life. Our goal is simple: make those experiences positive, gentle, and even fun: so checkups become something your kids don't mind (and maybe even look forward to).
When should my child first see a dentist?
By their first birthday, or within six months of the first tooth appearing. Early visits are short and easy, a gentle look, a "ride" in the chair, and lots of encouragement. They help your child get comfortable, and they let us catch early issues with teething, bottles, pacifiers, or thumb-sucking before they become problems.
How we keep kids' teeth healthy
- Gentle exams and cleanings sized to your child's age and comfort level
- Fluoride treatments to strengthen young enamel against cavities
- Sealants: thin protective coatings that shield the deep grooves of new molars, where most childhood cavities start
- Digital x-rays with very low radiation, only when needed
- Tooth-colored fillings when cavities do happen, small, quick, and matched to the tooth
- Custom sports mouth guards for young athletes
Nervous kids (and nervous parents) are in good hands
Areydis, our dental assistant, is wonderful with anxious little patients, we go at your child's pace, explain everything in kid-friendly words, and celebrate every brave moment. Parents are always welcome in the room. Many of the families we see drive in from across Tulare County because their kids actually like coming here.
Tips for healthy young smiles
Start wiping baby gums before teeth appear; brush twice daily with a rice-grain smear of fluoride toothpaste under age three (pea-sized after); help with brushing until about age eight; keep juice and sports drinks occasional; and make water the everyday drink. Ask us anything at your visit, coaching parents is part of the job we love.
One office for the whole family
Kids' appointments can be scheduled back-to-back with yours, one trip, everyone's done. That's the advantage of a true family practice.
Common Questions
When should my child first see a dentist?
By their first birthday, or within six months of their first tooth, whichever comes first. Early visits are short, positive, and build lifelong comfort with dental care.
Will you see my nervous child?
Gladly, we see nervous little patients every week. We go at your child's pace, use kid-friendly words, and parents are always welcome in the room.
Are sealants and fluoride safe for kids?
Yes. Both are recommended by the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics, and they're two of the most effective ways to prevent childhood cavities.
